Rowan McGinness is an emerging contemporary artist born and residing in Canberra, Australia. She recently graduated with Honours from the Australian National University School of Art and Design. Her practice considers how tactility and spatial engagement open up possibilities for making paintings that invite the audience to have an expanded experience of viewing. She aims to achieve this by creating works that place an emphasis on the sense of touch and bodily engagement. Her studio research takes form as paintings that balance materiality and illusion, as well as hybrid painted objects. |
